YouTube and Podcasts Overrule the Domination of TV Comedy Shows as a Companion for Sahur

“33% people enjoy YouTube and podcasts during their sahur”

This year Eid al-Fitr was celebrated a week ago. However, the atmosphere of Eid still lingers in our minds, including one of the unique traditions of Ramadan: the pre-dawn meal. It is a time when families come together to have a meal before fasting.

In a recent survey conducted by Muniyo Quick Polling, 33% of 159 people enjoyed watching YouTube videos or listening to podcasts during their pre-dawn meal, known as sahur. The popularity of YouTube and podcast during sahur could be attributed to the fact that it was an excellent way to pass the time while waiting for the fast to start.

With the increase in the number of Muslim content creators, many Muslim YouTubers and podcasters created content that was specifically tailored to Ramadan. They covered topics such as Islamic lectures, recitation of the Quran, and even cooking shows that provided recipe ideas for sahur and iftar. This type of content wasn’t only informative but also added to the overall Ramadan experience.
